In 2008, the Urban Redevelopment Authority  of Singapore, in their Draft Master Plan, singled the Jurong lake district as one of the regions where redevelopment would prove to enhance and enlarge Singapore’s capacity for business and continued upgrade of facilities open to the people. Since its feature in the URA’s stratagem for Singapore’s future, the Jurong Lake District has become a hub for businesses as well as thriving residential and commercial centre, leading it to be labelled as the country’s second Central Business District.
